 Water plays an essential role in all four of Bhutan's major economic drivers – agriculture, hydropower, tourism and small-scale industry. Agriculture – which consumes over 90% of water resources used in Bhutan - employs over half of Bhutan's population and contributes over 15% of the country's GDP.
